Who are we

Through the years, Bayan EDGE has grown from a traditional microfinancing program to a social enterprise development organization with the primary goal of building the nation from below.

We are a social enterprise partner offering programs such as impact investment, social franchising, business services, and financial technology solutions to social enterprises, partner institutions, and enterprising individuals.

Executive Director’s Message

As a social enterprise, Bayan EDGE constantly pursues more meaningful social strategies to address the pressing needs to build the nation from below. Our mission of building the nation from below helps us guide priorities where we need to improve.

Our organization has always been a firm believer in the power of entrepreneurship to change individuals' lives. We have always provided funds and business intervention for the longest time to ensure their business stays. However, times have changed, prompting us to shift gears and change lanes to cater to more Filipinos.

Our team has deemed that it's time to provide social franchising where Filipinos will own businesses. Through a series of consultations, we are pursuing impact investment to support social enterprises in their entrepreneurial endeavors. We have developed financial technology solutions to adapt to the ever-increasing technological environment.

Bayan EDGE will maximize its cohesive network of individuals and organizations in the coming years. We will stand as a testament to the slogan of the Bayan Family of Foundations, 'creating end-to-end holistic solutions for social enterprise from inspiration to implementation' as we work hand-in-hand with our sister foundations in improving the lives of the Filipinos.

The following years will be busy as we will be going around the country advocating our programs, and that is putting things mildly. However, having in our heart and mind the goal of creating a positive social impact and building the nation from below motivates us to work harder.

President’s Message

From its inception, Bayan EDGE has created thousands of jobs, generated wealth for its clients, and evolved clients into entrepreneurs. With the extensive experience and proven capability of the organization and the team, we can do more than just provide seed capital for our clients; we can do much more for the country.

A lot of Filipinos want to become entrepreneurs and start a business. However, sooner or later, they would close shop. According to a study, the common reason is the need for more training provisions to expand and sustain such endeavors. To others, it’s a gap in the skills and application; for us, it’s an opportunity. Our goal as an organization is to help more Filipinos learn the value and significance of entrepreneurship by having one.

Guided with the opportunity to help more Filipinos, the Bayan EDGE team has developed new programs.

At the forefront of the programs is the social franchising. This program is exciting because it allows Filipinos to have their own business. The tech app, co-developed with the sister foundations to complement social franchising, will provide the necessary tools for business continuity and expansion. We are also constantly searching for existing social enterprises to assist them in their continuity, expansion, and the required capital for such endeavors.

The programs Bayan EDGE has come up with result from labor and love for the community. Being in the social enterprise industry for so long, we have made it our commitment to adapt to changes as necessary as possible in order to cater to and engage the ever-changing and growing market while staying true to our core values.
